Vodafone Paredes de Coura 2026

Dates, camping and where to stay somewhere quiet

It's one of Portugal's most legendary festivals — and arguably the most beautiful setting: a stage right by a river, in a green valley in the Minho. The Vodafone Paredes de Coura returns in 2026, and if you're planning to go, two things matter as much as the line-up: where to stay and how to get there. Here's what you need to know.

The festival

Born in the early 1990s, the Vodafone Paredes de Coura has built a rare reputation: a demanding indie, rock and electronic line-up, praised as far afield as Rolling Stone as one of the best festivals in Europe. But what makes it unique is the setting — the Praia Fluvial do Taboão, in the heart of a wooded valley. You swim in the river in the afternoon, then head up to the stage in the evening. Few festivals offer that.

The 2026 line-up is revealed over the months ahead: check the festival's official site for headliners and tickets.

Dates and location

The 2026 edition runs from 12 to 15 August (Wednesday to Saturday), at the Praia Fluvial do Taboão in Paredes de Coura, in northern Portugal. The festival takes place every year in August.

Camp, or sleep somewhere quiet?

The festival offers a free official campsite for general pass holders, right next to the site. That's the full-immersion option, in the thick of the atmosphere.

But after three or four days of concerts, sun and swimming, many people mostly dream of a real bed, a hot shower and a bit of quiet to recover. Places to stay in the area book up very fast for these dates — it's the one real logistical catch of the festival. Reserve as early as you can.

Casa Outeiro 99 is a few minutes from the site, quiet in the valley: two stone houses, a terrace to unwind between days, and 24/7 self check-in — a real plus when you get back late.
